Our Gardens
Edible Gardens Project
The Edible Gardens Project (The Edibles, for short) is a Highland Park, New Jersey project that helps new gardeners and those who have been gardening for years share information and learn how to improve local food security by helping each other and members of the community build gardens. Highland Park is a very active community in the effort to grow our own food.
Who can join? Anyone who wants to garden or volunteer; bring your kids!
(You don't need a backyard. A front yard, side yard, sunny porch, or some containers will do!)
What do you get? A delicious garden, organic gardening skills, help your neighbors, build community, and have FUN! Visit the website:

Trinity UMC gardeners have grown food and donated it to the Highland Park Food Pantry because fresh produce is something that food pantries cannot stock easily. We have two raised-bed garden plots. Join us in raising food for our neighbors!
Last year during Lent, some of us tried to take the 100-mile diet pledge. We could not succeed at only eating food grown within 100 miles of Highland Park, but we learned a lot about where our food comes from. Our goal? Raising awareness. Our food supply system is complex and we will have to think long and hard about how to deepen our efforts to address food insecurity and related environmental issues.
Our faith in action is rooted in the love and grace of our triune God.
