BREAD FOR THE WORLD

Trinity UMC is a Bread for the World church. Every year we participate in the Offering of Letters on a hunger-related justice issue. Visit the Bread for the World website to learn more: http://www.bread.org/

Bread for the World is a collective Christian voice urging our nation’s decision makers to end hunger at home and abroad. By changing policies, programs and conditions that allow hunger and poverty to persist, we provide help and opportunity far beyond the communities where we live. Bread for the World is a 501(c)4 organization.

 HEALTH CARE

"Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health care is
the most shocking and inhumane."
- Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.,
Christian non-violence activist

In March 2010, the Affordable Health Care Law was signed into law. This law helps insure that the uninsured have access to affordable health insurance. We must also defend access to Medicare and Medicaid. The PICO national network helps congregations and faith-based organizations participate in community organizing to address the needs of their local community as defined by people in that community. PICO has resources on health care access and many others issues. Visit them on the web at:
http://www.piconetwork.org/

People Improving Communities through Organizing (PICO) is a nation-wide network of faith-based organizations who work on social justice issues related to economic problems impacting us all--among them are health care access, housing, safe neighborhoods, and immigration reform.
